15 Supernatural Facts for Season 15

Calling all Supernatural fans!

As Supernatural heads into its 15th and final season let's take a look back at some incredible moments on and off-screen from the hit show.

1. To keep the existence of angels on the show a secret, Supernatural auditioned Misha Collins for the role of a demon before revealing to him that he would actually be an angel.

2. Many of the episodes are named after classic rock songs that all reference a particular theme of the episode.

3. Papa Winchester, played by Jeffery Dean Morgan, is only 12 years older than his on-screen son Dean is in real life.


4. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have gone from co-stars to roommates to groomsmen at each other’s weddings.

5. Jensen and Jared's personal bodyguard Clif Kosterman also made different two different on-screen appearances on the show during seasons 2 and 11. Hopefully, the guys gave him some tips!

6. Jared Padalecki’s character Sam could be seen wearing a sling for several episodes at the beginning of season 10. The reason? Jared dislocated his shoulder while wrestling fellow castmate Osric Chau!


7. As if being in front of the camera isn’t enough, Jensen has also directed several episodes of Supernatural. How does he manage both roles? A lot of preparation!

8. Jensen Ackles even got to direct his father in an episode when Alan Ackles played Detective Pike in Season 8.

9. Both Jensen and Jared’s wives have made gotten to be on Supernatural with Danneel Ackles making several appearances playing Sister Jo, and Genevieve Padalecki’s recurring role as Ruby.

10. Supernatural creator Eric Kripke’s son shares a birthday with none other than Sam Winchester!

11. Both Jensen and Jared originally auditioned for the role of Sam Winchester. Thankfully Supernatural has the foresight to keep both of them around!

12. Supernatural was only supposed to be five seasons, but thank goodness we got ten more!


13. Bobby Singer played by Jim Beaver was only supposed to be in one episode and was named after a producer.

14. Supernatural is not only the longest-running series on The CW, but it is also the longest-running science fiction series in broadcast television history.

15. Jared and Jensen both had to leave WB Shows to be on Supernatural. Jared left Gilmore Girls and Jensen had to leave Smallville.
