Chicago Sky 2026 WNBA Draft Party: Skytown Welcomes Three Rookies
An annual tradition took place Monday, April 13, as Chicago Sky ticket members, partners, fans, and media gathered at Revolution Brewing for the Chicago Sky Official Draft Party. The U was thrilled to attend the event as the Sky’s exclusive local broadcast home.

The 2026 WNBA Draft was held at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City with the Chicago Sky owning 3 of the 45 picks: No. 5 overall (first round), No. 21 overall (second round) and No. 32 overall (third round).
Fans were elated when UCLA guard/forward Gabriela Jaquez was selected as the Sky’s first round pick. Jaquez joins the team fresh off her national championship with UCLA where she started all 38 games. Jaquez was a standout player all year long and ranks eighth on UCLA’s all-time leaderboard for three-pointers made.
In the second round, the Sky selected Ole Miss forward Latasha Lattimore (No. 21 pick) and Kentucky point guard Tonie Morgan (No. 32 pick) in the third round.
These three rookies will be a part of a new era of the Chicago Sky and their newly revamped team. Leading up the draft, the Sky traded Ariel Atkins for LA Sparks player Rickea Jackson. In addition, Dijonai Carrington, Jacy Sheldon, former Sky player Azura Stevens, and all-Star point guard Skylar Diggins joined the roster.
You can expect to see some familiar faces as Rachel Banham, Elizabeth Williams, and star vet Courtney Vandersloot have resigned for the season.

At the end of the draft party, head coach Tyler Marsh addressed the crowd stating that his mission is always to “put a team out there that you can be proud of” and feels that the Sky staff have done an “amazing job” of doing that this year.
