Exhausted Volunteers Say The City Needs A Better Plan
Migrants temporarily living inside Chicago’s police stations have relied on the kindness of volunteers for clothing, food and transportation as they wait for more permanent shelter. Volunteers and a North Side alderwoman suggested the city use larger locations to house migrants, saying conditions are abysmal in police stations and other neighborhood spots.
