      Vocalo Radio Signs Off After Two Decades On-Air

      The station gave some of Chicago’s biggest stars their start, including Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Jamila Woods, Saba, Ric Wilson, and a burgeoning mix of independent rap, soul, and R&B artists to citywide and national recognition. “We built relationships and championed artists,” a former station director said. “It’s a loss for Chicago culture.” Founding member Ayana Contreras spoke with 'On The Block' about the station's end.
